Vancouver-based fiddler and multi-instrumentalist Michael Burnyeat has recorded a showcase album of fiddle tunes that wonderfully displays his wide breadth of versatility and musical prowess. He's equally at home playing BC reels as he is with Irish jigs and Texas hoedowns, and he can rip on guitar and mandolin as well as being one of the most celebrated and award-winning fiddlers of his generation. Not only does this album feature Burnyeat on a variety of instruments, but it also features many of the West Coast's finest accompanists on guitar and accordion. It's not just a straight-up fiddle album, but one that weaves stories from the old country(s) to the new frontier of British Columbia, where he was born and raised. Burnyeat is a sought-after sideman on Canada's West Coast, regularly appearing at concerts and festivals with beloved songwriter David Francey and many others.
